Welcome to Limekiln Wind Farm

SECOND ROUND OF COMMUNITY OPEN DAYS, REAY VILLAGE HALL

Thursday 24th and Friday 25th May 2012, 2-8pm each day.

Since our last visit to Reay in March, we have been analysing more data on the Limekiln site and taking into consideration comments made following the last round of community open days.  With all of that in mind, we’ve adjusted the layout accordingly and would like to invite you to our next round of Community Open Days to have a look at and discuss the revised proposal with the team. We hope you can make it along - Friday evening has been extended this time until 8pm.

Scotland leads the way on harnessing renewable energy sources. However, the set target of 100% of electricity from renewables by 2020 cannot be met without further development. Ways to ensure the landscape can accommodate this are carefully chosen sites and sensitively designed developments.

Infinergy Ltd is proposing to construct and operate an onshore wind farm known as Limekiln Wind Farm. The site is located around 1.5km south of Reay, and 2.8km south/southwest of the existing Dounreay Power Station.

We have completed the scoping stage of the development and submitted the report to the Scottish Government and all relevant consultees.  The full Scoping Report can be found in the Downloads section of this site.

The full application, which will include a full Environmental Impact Assessment, will be submitted to the Scottish Government later this year, once all of the environmental, social and economic survey work is complete and once we have consulted with the local community.  There are a number of ways in which we plan to do this, including holding open days for everyone to come along and see what's being proposed.  Registering your interest on this website and filling in the questionnaire is another way of letting us know what you think - click through via the link below.
